A mechanical process carried out to alleviate compaction, reduce thatch layers , increase water, nutrients and oxygen levels to the root zone. Provide a gaseous exchange to combat pathogens and anaerobic bacteria build up in the soil profile.
At G.J.M Lawncare we provide various forms of aeration , each having their individual benefits.
Hollow Tine: This extracts a core of soil and vegetation, which can either be removed or broken up in combination with scarifying, which retains the soil as a topdressing , and leaves the unwanted thatch and moss on the surface to be removed.
Solid Tine : Similar to pushing a fork in to the lawn , producing numerous amounts of holes which allow nutrients, water, oxygen and light to where it is required by the grass plant .
Chisel Tine & Fracture Tine : When minimal surface disruption is desired , on fine turfed areas or at particular times of the year, these provide a solution with the same benefits.
